Dr. Tony Piscitelli
Dr Tony Piscitelli currently an adjunct professor in the Global Transportation Department at SUNY Maritime College is an acknowledged expert in security and anti-terrorism physical and electronic security systems. He is the former Founder, President and CEO of American Defense Systems, Inc. With over 38 years of industry experience specializing in blast, ballistic and forced entry mitigation, he has been actively involved with various law enforcement and defense organizations within and outside of the United States
Elizabeth McCarthy, a full time Lecturer at SUNY Maritime and adjunct at US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, is a Maritime professional, who has seen and experienced the industry upclose for over 20 years. An alumni of SUNY Maritime, she began her career on the Great Lakes and continued with National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), whilst at sea. She brought her experience ashore and worked and continued her education in Law, before taking up teaching positions.
Starting his career as a Marine Engineer Apprentice in 1995 in Calcutta, he went on to become a Chief Engineer sailing on Oil Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Container vessels. Stepping ashore in 2009, Mr Ghosh was involved in new building takeovers for India Steamship from Hyundai, Korea. Thereafter, he worked with Anglo Eastern Ship Management ( Hongkong ) and BW ( Singapore ) as a technical superintendent. Working with third party ship managers as well as direct Owner has given him a broad and varied experience in technical supervision of vessels. He holds the status of Chartered Engineer and has a degree in Electrical Engineering ( AMIE ).
Dr Robert W Robertson
Dr. Robert W. Robertson, President of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute, he serves as a Visiting Professor of Management (2006- ) at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; and, a Scientific Adviser (2006- ) to the Global Universities in Distance Education (GUIDE) association headquartered at Marconi University in Rome, Italy. In 2016, Dr. Robertson was named a Fulbright Scholar by the US Department of State conducting research in workforce skill development; and, an Emerging Leader in the America’s by Global Affairs, Canada. He is a Paul Harris Fellow.
Dr Michael C. Ircha
Dr. Ircha is a Professor and Associate Vice-President Emeritus at the University of New Brunswick as well as an Adjunct Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa. Mike also is the senior advisor to the Association of Canadian Port Authorities. Over the past three decades, Mike provided UNCTAD port management courses in various countries, including, for many years at the World Maritime University in Sweden and the Shanghai Maritime University.
